Lessons

Hoot & Holler Archery is dedicated to helping people practice and expand their archery skills. From beginners to advanced, we have a variety of lessons taught by experts in the field of archery. Check out our classes and sign up today!

  • Group Lessons

    Due to increased demand on lessons, we are offering group lessons to get school archers ready for tournaments. The group is limited to five archers. We recommend not having back to back lessons. Spots are pre-paid. The cost of lesson is $100 for 4 lessons, and $25 for additional lessons. Three or less lessons will be $30.00. Please call 318-747-6501 to reserve your spots.

  • Try Archery

    This one hour introductory class is designed to teach students how to safely shoot a bow and arrow, and excite them about archery through fun games, and activities. Participants will learn range safety, whistle and shooting commands, be fitted to archery equipment, and learn the steps of shooting.

    • Led by a Certified Instructor
    • Must be 8 years and older to participate
    • Equipment will be provided by Hoot & Holler Archery or participants may use their own equipment.
    • Dress Code: Proper Attire and Closed Toed Shoes
    • Course Fee: $25

    • All participants must have a completed waiver form to participate
    o Participants must be 18 years or older to sign or be the parent or guardian of the student

  • Intro to Genesis Shooting Class

    The students will learn the fundamentals of archery in accordance with the National Training System (NTS) which includes proper posture and alignment, aiming, the release, and follow through. They will also gain knowledge of archery etiquette and safety while having fun shooting arrows. This class is designed to create a solid foundation of knowledge and skill that will allow you to progress in the Archery in the School Program.

    • Led by Level 2 USA Archery Instructor and Level 3 NTS Coach
    • Must be 8 years and older to participate
    • Genesis bows and arrows will be provided by Hoot & Holler Archery or students may use their own equipment
    • Students will be issued stretch bands, and string bow
    • Protective gear such as arm guard, finger guard, and finger or wrist sling will be required
    • Dress Code: Proper Attire and Closed Toed Shoes
    • Classes are limited to 12 participants and must have a minimum of 8 students to commence
    • Course Fee: $80.00

    • Cancellation must be made 48 hours in advance prior to the first day of class for a full refund
    • All participants must have a completed waiver form to participate
    o Participants must be 18 years or older to sign or be the parent or guardian of the student

  • Advance Training for Genesis Shooters

    This class is geared towards genesis bow shooters who have already learned the fundamentals of archery in accordance with National Training System (NTS), have taken the Intro class or Explore Archery. The class allows shooters to gear up, warm up, and continue with basics in safety and form. This class provides the instruction and guidance to hone skills, improve form and concentration, focus on shot execution, and learn about tournament rules. It creates a framework for further competition and develops strength and accuracy as well as confidence and consistency. Upon course completion, students are encouraged to join the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club for continued archery instructions.

    • Led by Level 2 USA Archery Instructor and Level 3 NTS Coach
    • Classes are limited to 12 participants and must have a minimum of 8 students to commence
    • Must be 8 years and older to participate
    • It is highly recommended that participants use their own equipment during the class.
    • Students will be issued stretch bands.
